Add fun to your year with my new free printable calendar page. Nearly June and half way through the year. I thought as the month of May has been all about drawing faces. I thought I would incorporate some of my new work with these cheeky swimming ladies. I have been sketching like crazy this month while bed resting. I have really enjoyed it.
Here to some beautiful sunny days and enjoying the cool water of the pool.
Enjoy the new calendar page.

A big hello from my desk this week. Yeah I am back in my studio again and it feels good.
This week I was transported off to Miami beach imaging life as a Roller girl. Skating along the beach listening to Del la Soul's A roller skate jam Saturday song and rainbow leg warmers on . In reality that would be a hilarious image with my leg brace on and probably won't be doing something like that for some time.. ( sorry no leg talk I did promise) .
I have been busy working on my second course I am focusing on this month. Mastering your Market with Pattern Observer. I really have gained so much with the course so far. I think all the photo shop hot tips and tricks have really demystify so much for me built my confidence up on the computer. I really enjoyed diving into trends and browsing for hours on the Stylesight website which you get three months access too as part of the course. I have developed a mild addiction for this site. I love making up mood boards for the collections.
You might already see the tropical trend going on in the stores in London and pineapples seem to be all over the place and pink flamingos are making an appearance.
Next summer that 80's 90's pop pattern vibe will be he arriving with more palms trees, pine apples glitter.
Here are my print ideas I came up with I tried some new techniques it looks very different to my other work. It's all experimental I think I will develop this more. Diamond in the rough just now.
Maybe you will feel inspired to dust down those Roller skates and go skating in the park this long bank holiday weekend.
Have a good weekend. xxx

|Morning Sun rays bring a peaceful moment as I work on colour layout.|
Hello from my desk bed this week. So I just finished week 2 in bed. Things are good everything is healing and making a positive recovery. I have been joking with friends that I now know what the life of a sofa feels like. As I have had to sleep in my living room for the pass two weeks. Now I can progress up the stairs (we have a spiral staircase not good for leg in a brace) and get back into my studio.
So I have to admit not having access to my studio did presented some challenges. Challenges are good huh.
I persevered with my two courses this week. With Jarrod's lap top and my mobile phone as a scanner.
Lots and lots of drawing. I manage to complete my big assignment for Boot Camp.
An editorial piece about mediation. I am not sure I got this right. I challenge myself to working
on a whole piece in photo shop. I liked the end result. Even though it feels really different for me.
A little undecided about which one to submit I asked my fellow boot campers and they really helped me out so thank you boot campers.
So you will have to wait until you which one went into the gallery at the end of May.
There are some stunning pieces from the boot campers. For me I feel good I made it .
Meditation is something I am currently really exploring at the moment. Pre -surgery my mediation apps on my phone where being well used to try and keep myself calm that day.
Here is the article we had to illustrate for those of you who might think that mediation might just not be for me but you might just benefit for practicing a few oms each day.
Ok so have a lovely weekend and I shall be saying a big hello from my desk next week.
(oh no more surgery knee talk that's old news now everything is healing.)

Hello I am back from an eventful week. I had some surprise surgery on my knee last week. I am grateful and thankful for having my knee repaired and look forward to my new improved knee in the future.
It dose mean I am confined to bed for 6 weeks now. I am mastering the art of working from bed while my knee heals. Feeling like Matisse or Frida Kahlo I know spend my days working on creative projects in bed.I think that is healing in it's self.
I have two courses on the go now. Enjoying them booth. Mastering your market by Pattern Observer. Homing in on my patterned design skills for different markets. I am interested in expanding in to Quilt market and home decor so I am very excited about exploring and growing those skills.
Being back at Lilla's Boot camp has already been so much fun and getting to know some more boot campers.
The topic this month is one I feel totally at ease with. Drawing faces and people. From the minute I could draw people have it has been my favourite thing to draw.
This week is the experimental process. Here are some of my drawing just making things for fun.
I find I have been this process the most. For few years I have had this idea in my head to make a book Faces and places and not knowing where to start I think just experimenting this week has given me the idea.
The starting point was drawing dolls for this weeks project.
Here is my sketch book I am sharing with you and the drawing I have worked on this week. As you can see I really enjoyed working on them.
